Curse of Dunn's

Yesterday was a pretty good day. I already had told you guys that though. Christmas night wasn't so great. David, his two sisters Bekah and Colie, and then I went to see P.S. I Love You It was a good movie...but the emotional person I was cried through the whole thing. It's about a 29/30 year old dealing with her husband's death. Something I guess I couldn't handle. Anyway, the movie theater was packed so we had to park in the back parking lot...far away. But we have never had a problem ever before at these theaters. So, we locked the door and went along our way. We had fandagoed the tickets and were able to go right in. We left the theater and was walking to our cars (Colie and Bekah in one because they had met us at the theaters) and David and I to our cars. I opened my door and looked straight at the floor which I always do because I try to be careful getting into the car. I notice something black that looks like it should be with the radio. I think...hmmm, that wasn't in that place when we left the car and then I look up and I see a dashboard hanging on for its life by wires and I think to myself that definanetly wasn't how we left it. Someone had stuck a hanger or something in and unlocked our car and took out our new radio we had gotten with David's re-enlistment money...and it was our Christmas present to each other. (It was an expensive radio). I will have a picture later, Colie took one...I just don't have it right now. We filed a report with the theater and had the security guard take pictures. I don't know now competent the guy was because he said on the paper we were from North Dakota and not North Carolina ... it's written out on the stupid license plate! But because no one was injured the Sheriff's dept won't even come out to see the car. So we drove home (this being almost 2 hours after we had already gotten out of the movie) and got a little sleep.
This morning, Dec 26, we first went and got David a haircut because it wasn't up to regulations and he was a little worried about it and then we went to the Sheriff's dept and filed a claim. Then our insurance company told us to go to a certain dealership to get an estimate. We took the car their and told the insurance company that it was unsafe to drive the car because the airbag system was cut and that the dashboard was just hanging on by wires. Well the insurance company made us a car rental reservation. A couple of hours later the dealership called us to tell us the estimate...over $4700.00! Isn't that outragous! I've never heard anything so crazy, but I guess I can believe it with them have to most likely replace the airbags and then also the dashboard and the harnesses...It's going to be a mircle if we can leave by next friday...a week later. But, thankfully we don't have to check in until the 14th of Jan but we wanted to get to Albuquerque to get adjusted and get a house and everything figured out on the 8th. Oh well, we can wish for the best. So, I hope everyone else's Christmas was better also and safer!
Oh and another crazy thing, my in-laws house that we are staying at was robbed less than 2 weeks ago also. It must be the curse against the Dunn's! Hopefully nothing else bad happens!

Christmas

Well, it's christmas day and I'm in California with David's family. It has been a good trip so far. We haven't done much which is always ok with me. I did get my nails and toes done yesterday..always lots of fun. On Thursday David and i are going to Modesto to see my granpa, I'm really excited for that. Then on Friday we are going shopping! I love to shop! Then Saturday we have a wedding to go to. So, we will be busy for a little bit. On Sunday we are leaving to go back to Vegas. I'm excited to see my parents again, we weren't in Vegas for very long last time (3 days) and well I hadn't seen my parents before that since March.
Merry Christmas everyone and I hope everyone has a safe and fun day!

A Book of Mormon Christmas Story

Monday night David and I went to family home evening with my parents. They have FHE in a big group of about 8 people and they take turns giving the lesson every week. It's really cool to my opinion. Anyway, a lady gave the fhe lesson about the christmas story but not the traditional story from the bible but from the book of mormon. Anyway, for anyone who wanted it who reads this I wanted to give the scripture references incase anyone wanted to have them.
1 Nephi 10:4
2 Nephi 25:19
2 Nephi 17:14
1 Nephi 11:18

Change of Plans

Well, we have FINALLY made it to a destination...just not the original destination. We were planning on getting to Oklahoma City on Friday and staying until Sunday and then driving up to Denver for a week and then over to Sacramento for Christmas. Well, due to all the storms we are in Vegas right now. I am at my parents new house and I LOVE it. The dogs are having tons of fun and running around...a lot bigger than my old house. So, we took the 20 all the way across till it ended in Texas and then we caught the 10 and took it up to Blythe, CA and then we caught the US 95 and took it up to Vegas. 2600 miles later and we are exhausted. We got into Vegas at 1230am Sunday morning but we left about 500am their time on Saturday, so it was a really really really long drive. The dogs slept most of the way but because of that they were really hyper when they got into town. Not always a good thing. But for now it's time for me to go relax a little bit more...I'm still exhausted!

Leavin'

Think of the tune "Leavin on a jet plane...don't know when I'll be back again" Except it's: I'm Leavin in a truck...don't know when I'll get to sleep again! So, instead of studying...once again...which I tried for about a half hour...I got on the internet while David is shampooing the carpets and I'm writing a blog. It's our last night in town and I can't believe it's here already. I'm so stressed out...which is pretty normal since I still need to take 3 finals tomorrow and then we are driving 22 hours. It's going to be a super long day/night. tonight was fun though, David and I went to Mike's farm with Liz's work and then we did the lights and then we went to Walmart. It's crazy to think of how I don't know when and if I will ever see all of my friends again. I'm surely going to miss them. As much as I dislike Jacksonville, I'm going to really miss it. But I'm excited to move on and make new friends and see my friends that I have along the way later on in life and still having great chats. That's what I do like about moving. I mean on Friday I'm going to be seeing some of our friends that we haven't seen in 3 years and a year and a half ago I saw a freind I hadn't seen in a year and a half. So, it's really cool being able to see friends and keep in contact.

Empty

My house is now EMPTY. It feels really crazy to be in the house with just a blow up mattress and a few clothes. This day came so fast and now I really can't believe I'm moving on THURSDAY! The time went really really fast since we got the orders. But, I'm excited to be leaving and it'll be a new place with new changes.
Yesterday was my birthday, but we celebrated it on Saturday because we knew we were going to be busy on Sunday with getting the house ready and also because we didn't want to break the Sabbath...which we ended up doing trying to get things ready for the house. But we went out to dinner at Outback (yummy!) and then we went bowling and we watched a movie. It was great! Doing something nice and simple is just perfect. Anyway, I need to do some studying, I have finals on Wed and Thursday and one more day of classes. I still can't believe it's December...where did 2007 go?

I already made the appt and everything! Yay for her! Only 9 days until I move. CRAZY!
