Curse of Dunn's

Yesterday was a pretty good day. I already had told you guys that though. Christmas night wasn't so great. David, his two sisters Bekah and Colie, and then I went to see P.S. I Love You It was a good movie...but the emotional person I was cried through the whole thing. It's about a 29/30 year old dealing with her husband's death. Something I guess I couldn't handle. Anyway, the movie theater was packed so we had to park in the back parking lot...far away. But we have never had a problem ever before at these theaters. So, we locked the door and went along our way. We had fandagoed the tickets and were able to go right in. We left the theater and was walking to our cars (Colie and Bekah in one because they had met us at the theaters) and David and I to our cars. I opened my door and looked straight at the floor which I always do because I try to be careful getting into the car. I notice something black that looks like it should be with the radio. I think...hmmm, that wasn't in that place when we left the car and then I look up and I see a dashboard hanging on for its life by wires and I think to myself that definanetly wasn't how we left it. Someone had stuck a hanger or something in and unlocked our car and took out our new radio we had gotten with David's re-enlistment money...and it was our Christmas present to each other. (It was an expensive radio). I will have a picture later, Colie took one...I just don't have it right now. We filed a report with the theater and had the security guard take pictures. I don't know now competent the guy was because he said on the paper we were from North Dakota and not North Carolina ... it's written out on the stupid license plate! But because no one was injured the Sheriff's dept won't even come out to see the car. So we drove home (this being almost 2 hours after we had already gotten out of the movie) and got a little sleep.
This morning, Dec 26, we first went and got David a haircut because it wasn't up to regulations and he was a little worried about it and then we went to the Sheriff's dept and filed a claim. Then our insurance company told us to go to a certain dealership to get an estimate. We took the car their and told the insurance company that it was unsafe to drive the car because the airbag system was cut and that the dashboard was just hanging on by wires. Well the insurance company made us a car rental reservation. A couple of hours later the dealership called us to tell us the estimate...over $4700.00! Isn't that outragous! I've never heard anything so crazy, but I guess I can believe it with them have to most likely replace the airbags and then also the dashboard and the harnesses...It's going to be a mircle if we can leave by next friday...a week later. But, thankfully we don't have to check in until the 14th of Jan but we wanted to get to Albuquerque to get adjusted and get a house and everything figured out on the 8th. Oh well, we can wish for the best. So, I hope everyone else's Christmas was better also and safer!
Oh and another crazy thing, my in-laws house that we are staying at was robbed less than 2 weeks ago also. It must be the curse against the Dunn's! Hopefully nothing else bad happens!

Wow! Krissie that's horrible. I'm so paranoid about moving and having all our stuff stolen from our truck. We are probably going to be sticking around here until Jan 4 when we close on our house and Jared can get all his paperwork filled out.
